The house is within the eManzini Private game reserve and positioned on a hillock overlooking the Albert Falls Dam outside Pietermaritzburg. Due to the nature of the surrounds, environment and climate play a strong role in the architecture of this impressive house.

On arrival, a large timber door pivots open onto a split level entrance area and is fronted by  a double volume glass façade that frames and embraces the views of the landscape beyond.  All first floor rooms lead onto large covered verandas. The ground floor open plan lounge, kitchen and dining areas are incorporated into the bushveld by folding back the 5m wide stacking doors. All 5 bedrooms face North East and have captivating views of the bush and dam which invite the visitor to enjoy early morning sunrises ahead of the hot bushveld day to come.
